Kangaroo Ground dam repair

This Kangaroo Ground property had an ageing farm dam that had lost capacity and was showing signs of wear. Sediment had built up over the years, reducing water storage. The embankment needed reshaping and compaction, and the spillway required upgrades to handle heavy rainfall safely. We brought in our excavators and bulldozers to tackle the job properly. First, we drained the dam and removed the accumulated silt and sediment—restoring the basin to its original depth and water-holding capacity. Our excavator worked the basin and banks while the dozer shaped and compacted the embankment, addressing erosion and ensuring a stable structure. We reshaped the dam walls with correct slopes, upgraded the spillway to manage overflow during wet weather, and compacted the earth to minimise seepage.
